Our Mission

EV3Lessons.com

This site was founded by members of First Lego League Team Not the Droids You Are Looking For in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA in 2014. The site was created as part of the 2014 FLL World Class Project season to help improve the way we learn to program the EV3.

We believe that all teams (even those without coaches with technical backgrounds) need a good starting point for coding well. If you start right, you can learn more and do more. We think learning-by-doing is still important, but everyone needs a good foundation. Otherwise, kids get frustrated, and quit robotics and science.

We want teams to take the lessons on this site, learn from them, adapt them, add to them, and then solve your missions by combining concepts and ideas. It's just like math. First learn the numbers.....then you figure out adding, then subtracting and multiplying and dividing.

We do not provide solutions to any First Lego League missions. Your team does the work for FLL. Your season will be successful because of the work you put into it.

It is okay to:

  1. Learn how to code
  2. Cite the person or team that showed you the technique
  3. Learn a new technique from someone else
  4. Learn something and make it even better

It is not okay to copy code or anything else that is shared by any team and say it was all yours (not give credit). Think about like a research project in school. If you look up information in another source, just cite the source.

We are sharing programming lessons and other tools in the spirit of Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition. We believe that all of us can learn together. With over 3000 users around the world, we know that we have had an impact on the way we learn to program the EV3!

We hope that more teams continue to submit lessons to us and help us translate the lessons into more languages.

Please email us with suggestions, lessons and any questions about the lessons. We are glad to help.
